Crash Analysis capabilities

Mechwell Industries Limited provides an environment to OEMs & their suppliers to develop and validate the sate-of-the-art in crash impact simulations analyses for complete vehicle and to predict the behavior. We believe that such analyses have great potential to significantly improve the safety and comfortability of vehicles as it integrates guidelines and consumer test such as ECE, FMVSS & NCAPs and takes them into account during the development.

 Seating Systems

Seating comfort and safety are the key attributes that today's consumer demands more and more. A major portion of the vibrations experienced by the occupants of an automobile enters the body through the seat. The Seat belt as well as the air bags act together to ensure the safety of the passenger in crash situation. Therefore the worthiness of the seating system need to be addressed as per all government regulations and internal requirements.

Objective: The regulations applies to anchorage for safety-belts intended for adults occupants of forward-facing or reward-facing seats in vehicles of categories M and N.

Applied load and reaction load should show close approximate.

Work done & internal energy should close approximations

Plot the plastic strains for the parts near anchorage. Compare plastic strain with allowable plastic strain at rupture.

Luggage Retention

Objective: To prevent occupant from danger displacement of luggage in frontal impact of vehicle.

Airbag Analysis

Objective: To study Airbag deployment during frontal impact Creation on folded simulation models Validation of airbags based on impact test Gas flow takes into consideration during air bag inflation

The functionality and safety issues relating to them are analyzed. Instrument panels and floor consoles need to be tested for head impacts as per ECE R21 regulations and equivalent us and Japanese regulations in respective zones. .

Objective: To check the level of head injury of occupant   during frontal impact. The main motto of this analysis to predict acceleration of head.

Plot head from acceleration and plot 3ms plot.

Plot total energy and observe that kinematic energy and internal energy vs. time plots.

Plot acceleration vs. time and acceleration vs. displacement values for evaluating the energy dissipation.

Exterior System

System Similar to the Interior system, other vehicle exterior systems such as, Front Bumper, Rear Bumper, BIW, Door & closures Are important system in vehicle functionality & system.Front & Rear bumper need to be tested for frontal & rear impact as per ECE and equivalent US and Japanese regulations in respective zones.

ECE R 42

Objective: Testing of the car assembly as per ECE R 42 Regulation No damage to crucial components to both tests mentioned in regulation. Quantifying damages converting in terms of percentage energy observed Observation: Total Energy Kinetic energy Energy absorbed by the components .

Implicit & Explicit Analysis

Headlamps illuminate the road space in front of the car and must meet the requirements of all road users. Dynamic road loads to automotive structures are random in nature and can therefore be conveniently defined as random processes. The random responses, such as stresses and accelerations of an automotive structure, are simulated efficiently by employing Ansys frequency response module. It is necessary to analysis the strength of the Headlamp Assembly for various conditions of loading in order to know internal safety. Present report shows the FEA analysis of the housing under below loading conditions.
